Janssen Research & Development has a dedicated and longstanding commitment to neuroscience. Our goal is to reduce the widespread burden, disability, and devastation caused by serious neuropsychiatric diseases and pain conditions worldwide. Our research and development work is focused on neurology, which includes Alzheimer’s disease; psychiatry, with an emphasis on mood disorders and schizophrenia; and pain, specifically chronic pain and neuropathic pain. We are using state-of-the-art science to move from a “diagnose-and-treat” approach to a “predict-and-prevent” paradigm.
Across disease states, our researchers are taking advantage of emerging scientific findings to inform future research avenues. Our goal is to leverage breakthrough technologies in imaging, genomics, and associated biomarkers to provide early disease diagnostics and patient management programs. We are also focused on internal as well as external innovation.
