Members of IEPA Early Intervention in Mental Health come from a variety of backgrounds. They include clinicians, administrators, policy makers, researchers and people with an interest in early psychosis.The IEPA began as an informal meeting between clinicians and researchers in the 1990s, who met to discuss research findings that demonstrated the benefits of early intervention for sufferers of psychosis.The first international conference was held in Melbourne in 1996 and subsequent international conferences have been held bi-annually ever since. It has long been a forum for groundbreaking discussions that have led to many breakthroughs in the area of early intervention.
